After equipment at Newark Liberty International Airport malfunctioned last week, the Air Traffic Controllers Association now says controllers “temporarily lost radar and communications with the aircraft under their control, unable to see, hear, or talk to them” — and the outage reportedly lasted for 90 seconds.
