Strong Tropical Cyclone Maila has devastated parts of Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. Impacted provinces are facing gale-force winds, swells ranging from 3.5 - 6 metre and coastal inundation. In addition to humanitarian impact, the cyclone also caused landslides, damaged houses and infrastructure (schools, health centre, water supply and sanitation facilities and roads) and crops and livestock.
