For those of us interested in professional regulatory reform, Newfoundland and Labrador has just merged its nursing regulators so registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) are now under one regulator. This follows a number of other provinces. I tend to see this as a good development as it standardizes practices and makes it easier for the public to deal with one regulator.
