This Job Takes Us Everywhere.... This past week our officers were called to assist the Wausau Fire Department with the rescue of a man who had jumped into the Wisconsin River while fleeing from law enforcement in the Village of Rib Mountain. Thankfully, as the airboat arrived into the area the man climbed onto some ice and was rescued from shore. Last night we had the opportunity to share a few hours with our City Council and Mayor to discuss the operations of the police department. Part of our presentation involved a discussion about police use of force. We asked for volunteers to be tased and Mayor Mielke readily agreed. This past week our staff attended another great hand-off event for the Police Lights Of Christmas, along with over 100 other law enforcement agencies. At the event, we were presented with our share of gift cards which will be provided to our officers to hand out to members of our community in times of need.
